Under state law, each city must have a General Plan to guide future growth and development.  A General Plan is a long-range document that includes goals, policies and programs for how a community will manage its land use, housing, circulation, natural resources, economics and public services.

General Plan Update Community Workshop #4
City Hall/Pacific Cove Special Study Area

Dear Community Member,


I would like to personally invite you to attend the fourth community workshop for Capitola's General Plan Update. At this workshop you will have the opportunity to provide input on the future of the City Hall/Pacific Cove property. Your participation in this workshop will help to ensure that the updated General Plan represents a true community-based vision for the future of this important 7 acre site in Capitola.


This workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, May 12th, at the Capitola Community Center, 4400 Jade Street. At this workshop you will learn about key issues, opportunities and constraints relating to:


• Possible uses of the City Hall/Pacific Cove site
• Possible future parking to serve Capitola Village/beach access/future village development
• Possible relocation of Capitola Police facilities away from flood prone areas.

Following an introductory presentation, you will work in small groups to develop a vision for the future use of the City Hall/Pacific Cove site. Your input at this workshop will become the basis for land use and design concepts for the site that will ultimately be incorporated into the General Plan. We expect the workshop will conclude at approximately 12:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
